    Recovery Stages

What stage of recovery are you in? Are you grieving the loss of the addiction? You wouldn’t be in this place if you didn’t want change. Feeding the addictive brain makes it stronger and so, the goal is to starve it.

Gabor Mate says: “Addiction is a solution to pain.”

At Mended Pathways Wellness, we believe there are many paths to successful recovery that will work with your goals and desires to ensure you can make the life changes you want to make – the key is to recognize we can’t erase the addiction, but we can replace it with something that’s healthy while you work towards achieving the best relationship with yourself.

Employing Acceptance Commitment and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, EMDR, Internal Family Systems and Strengths-based therapeutic approaches, we will work together to:

    • learn about triggers and how to address them, unhealthy patterns and trauma wounds, helping clients get realigned with their values
    • put a collaborative relapse recovery plan in place and/or support an existing one
    • respond to cues and cravings via healthy coping strategies so as to prevent the response and reward cycle
    • employ SMART (specific, measurable, action oriented, realistic/relevant, timely) goals and HALT (hungry, angry, lonely, tired) to support your recovery
    • develop a relapse recovery plan together tailored to meet your needs
